Following last month&#8217;s Google +1 button announcement, the company&#8217;s aim to regain web activity share from social sites like Twitter and Facebook is clearer than ever. Behold, the coming tide of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/+\/learnmore\/\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Google+<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><div class=\"lazy-youtube\" data-id=\"xwnJ5Bl4kLI\">\n            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.youtube.com\/vi\/xwnJ5Bl4kLI\/hqdefault.jpg\" alt=\"YouTube Video\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n            <button class=\"play-button\" aria-label=\"Play video\"><\/button>\n        <\/div><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, just a month back, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newser.com\/story\/119896\/ceo-eric-schmidt-google-screwed-up-social-media.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Google CEO Eric Schmidt said<\/a> very bluntly that he &#8220;screwed up&#8221; where social media is concerned to date. \u00a0Looking at what people have largely viewed as failed ventures (at least, in what many would expect from Google), such as Orkut and Buzz, most would find it tough to argue with Mr. Schmidt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Google&#8217;s change of tone and new<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">more humble approach the the technology does paint a more optimistic tone for the search engine giant. &nbsp;It would appear, that Google is centering their push into social media still around what they do best- <strong>search<\/strong>. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New tools like Google&#8217;s social search have appeared. I believe this will be the first of many attempts to exploit weaknesses in other networks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even though this is mainly a move into social media, it includes several new integrations with search. That&#8217;s why this time, it will really matter quite a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This effort gains further support when we see how poorly other social networks currently perform in this area.
